Glamping: nature, community and group activities, but without leaving luxury aside

Camping... but with all the comforts of a luxury hotel.

While it is true that more and more people are going camping, it is also true that some campers - probably those who consider themselves real campers - get cold blood every time they hear the term associated with the new type of camping: Glamping.

Its etymology is simple: glamour + camping. And, in practice, it consists of just that. Going camping... but with all the comforts of a luxury hotel. Who said you can't enjoy nature and other activities from the comfort of your air-conditioned bungalow, with a very comfortable bed, private bathroom, fully equipped kitchen, television and many more extras?

Its etymology is simple: glamour + camping. And, in practice, it consists of just that. Camping... but with all the comforts of a luxury hotel.

So, seen in this light, glamping doesn't sound so bad. Some may say that it contravenes the philosophy of traditional camping, but the truth is that this new type of camping has been integrated to perfection in many of the largest campsites in Spain, such as the Delfín Verde or the Ballena Alegre, to give just a few recognisable examples, which have already allocated some areas for one type of camping or another.

Moreover, it is an unbeatable way of attracting another type of public to this type of complex, which until now had a very defined target. With this greater variety of options, campsites are broadening the target audience for which they are attractive.

And so far, it has worked phenomenally well for them. The numbers speak for themselves, even with a pandemic in our midst that kept us locked up for 3 months and scared and restricted for another year and a half.

Glamping is here to stay, and we wouldn't be surprised to see more and more facilities set up for it.
